Baird Creek Point is situated on the west side of Baird Creek...affording great
sunrises while the afternoon setting sun is filtered through the tall timber!
The community is situated on a ridge with home site elevations from 12 feet
to 25 feet. Homes are not required to carry flood insurance and homes need
not be built “on stilts” . Most home sites are situated on beautiful rolling
terrain with a canopy of tall hardwoods and pines. The 3 mile wide Neuse is
just yards away…..leading to the Pamlico Sound, IntraCoastal Waterway and
the Atlantic!
Baird Creek Point is in Pamlico County and is conveniently located between
New Bern and Oriental (just outside Arapahoe).
Infrastructure
Electric service has been installed and is serviced by Tidelands EMC. All
electric lines are underground. The access road is complete. Telephone
service is by CenturyLink which also provides high speed internet. Water for
each home site is by well…..tapping into the abundant and clear waters of the
Castle Haynes aquifer (" the most productive aquifer in North Carolina"*). The
development is part of the Arapahoe Fire District.
Property taxes are very reasonable. For those from the northeast, they are
astonishingly low.....even prime waterfront home site owners pay well less
than $1000 per year......representing a savings of 70-80% over typical
northeastern states. The Pamlico County governmental website has
additional information.
Covenants and Restrictions
In order to preserve the character and value of your coastal home site we
have adopted a comprehensive set of approved and recorded covenants.
These set minimum home size (2200 sq ft) along with specifying superior
materials (such as siding and roof materials). Architectural committee review
of plans is required. There is no timetable for beginning construction,
although once begun it must be completed in 12 months. Please request a
complete copy.
Medical
For outpatient care and immediate care, there are two outpatient medical
centers conveniently located in Bayboro (a quick 8 or 10 minute car ride
away).
For inpatient and more comprehensive testing the Craven Regional Hospital
is available in nearby New Bern (approximately 22-25 minute car ride).
Craven Regional is a 313 bed hospital with over 200 board certified
physicians.
Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) is located in Greenville North Carolina,
approximately 1 hour from Baird Creek Point. PCMH is one of four academic
medical centers in North Carolina and serves as the teaching hospital for the
Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. PCMH is a fully
accredited JCHAO hospital and is a Level One Trauma Center.
Amenities
Boaters: Baird Creek Point is paradise for boaters and fishermen. Explore
Baird Creek and see what is biting….flounder, puppy drum, bass or sea
trout. You might well see dolphin feeding...and at dusk you might see otters
lounging on the docks along the waterway.
While most anglers use spinners for sea trout, bass, reds or flounder, the
area is great for fly fishing as well!
The planned community clubhouse and pool are designed to provide a
convenient place to relax, congregate or entertain including a reading loft and
rooftop viewing platform.
The community has a 3/4 acre stocked fishing pond
featuring bass, koi and bluegill.
Golf/Sports
Drive 9 miles (about 12-15 minutes) for your tee time at the 18 hole
Minnesott Beach Golf Club in nearby Arapahoe.
Try out the two 18 hole golf courses at nearby Fairfield Harbour…..Shoreline
and Harbour Point. [Note: as of the end of March 2008 Shoreline golf course
is closed due to a complicated dispute between the owner of the course and
the homeowner's association of Fairfield Harbour].
A short 25 minute drive to New Bern and you have several choices: The
Emerald designed by Rees Jones, the Riverbend Club course designed by RT
Branney, the private New Bern Golf and Country Club course whose front
nine were designed by famed architect Donald Ross, or try Taberna designed
by senior Nicklaus designer Jim Lipe.
For spectator sports, don't forget that East Carolina University is in
Greenville. ECU is home of the Pirates highly competitive NCAA sports teams,
notably footall. How about a little shopping in Greenville before attending a
tail gate party and game at ECU's Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium?
